Company Driver Information

Action Expediting is currently seeking qualified drivers for our growing dedicated operations across the country. Our operations require a CDL A or B license and while
the majority of our projects do not involve hazardous materials, we require that all of our drivers be hazmat certified.

We have operations in the Southeast (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North/South Carolina and Tennessee), the Southwest (Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas), the Northeast (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia), the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin), the Northwest (Oregon and Washington) and the West Coast (California and Nevada).

Driver Employment Requirements
In addition to a valid Class A or B CDL (with haz-mat endorsement)
the following minimums must be met to be considered for a driving position with Action Expediting.

  • 24 years of age
  • 2 years commercial driving experience (City, CDL, OTR)
  • 0 DUIs on driving record
  • No accidents in previous 2 years
  • Max. 1 moving violation in two years
  • Max. 2 moving violations in three years
  • Driver must furnish current five-year MVR
  • Current long-form physical and medical card
  • Submit to and pass pre-employment drug screen

After You’re Hired – Then What?
Once you’ve been offered and accepted a position with Action, the next step is training. The length and number of stops on the linehaul / peddle route you’ll be operating determines the amount of training required to properly perform your job to the customer’s satisfaction. Most drivers are well-trained and ready to strike out on their own after multiple training routes. New drivers can always obtain additional training from their supervisor should the need arise.

What Will You Be Driving?
Action Expediting takes great pride in supplying our drivers with late-model, well- maintained equipment from third-party, full-service lease providers (the average age of our equipment is less than 24 months). We work with some of the largest vendors in the nation to ensure that our equipment is safe and always road-worthy, and to guarantee that you’ll be up and running as soon as possible should a breakdown occur.

In addition, drivers are issued a Nextel phone with DirectConnect and GPS capabilities.

Medical Benefits
Action Expediting offers medical, dental and life coverage for its employees through United Healthcare. The cost of the plan is partially offset by the company. The total
out-of-pocket expense depends on the number of family members included on the
driver’s policy.

Referral Bonus Program
Many of our drivers have been with the company for several years or more. Being with a company you enjoy working for usually means you’d like to tell your peers about your experience. With this in mind, Action Expediting offers a $500 referral bonus to drivers that successfully recruit new drivers. The first $250 is paid after the new driver completes 90 days of satisfactory employment and the remainder is paid in increments of $125 – after 120 days and 180 days. This program has been most effective in hiring and retaining excellent drivers – as well as putting some extra money in our existing employees’ hands.

Dress Code
requires that all of our drivers maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times. Hair must be collar length, beards trimmed and shirts tucked in.

No Rider Policy
Action Expediting, Inc. does not allow passengers to be transported in company vehicles.
