Owner Operator Information

Action Expediting utilizes Owner Operators / Independent Contractors with either tractors or straight trucks for our growing dedicated operations in select markets. Because of our unique business model, we are able to guarantee Owner Operators a consistent income stream, plenty of home time (daily, weekends and holidays) and fixed route assignments. Our Owner Operators are paid on a weekly schedule and can take advantage of fuel savings through our vast purchase network.

Pay Expectations
Varies by region and project. Please check with an Action rep for details.

Owner Operator Vehicle Requirements
In addition to meeting company driver requirements, the Owner Operator’s Vehicle must meet strict company guidelines. The vehicle can be no more than five years old and the vehicle must be in excellent condition (the vehicle condition is of more concern than the year). No visual blemishes or vehicle damage are allowed. In addition, Owner Operator must provide proof of ownership and cost/value of unit.

Extended wheelbases cannot prohibit the truck from accessing loading docks.

the following minimums must be met to be considered for a driving position with Action Expediting.

  • 24 years of age
  • 2 years commercial driving experience (City, CDL, OTR)

After You’re Hired – Then What?
Once you’ve been offered and accepted a position with Action, the next step is training. The length and number of stops on the linehaul / route you’ll be driving determines the amount of training required to properly perform your job to customer’s satisfaction. Most drivers are well-trained and ready to strike out on their own after multiple training routes. New drivers can always obtain additional training from their supervisor should the need arise.

Referral Bonus Program
Many of our drivers have been with the company for several years or more. Being with a company you enjoy working for usually means you’d like to tell your piers about your experience. With this in mind, Action Expediting offers a $1000 referral bonus to drivers that successfully recruit new drivers. The first $500 is paid after the new driver completes 30 days of satisfactory employment and the remainder is paid in increments of $250 – after 90 days and 180 days. This program has been most effective in hiring and retaining excellent drivers – as well as putting some extra money in our existing employees’ hands.

Dress Code
Action
requires that all of our drivers maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times. Hair must be collar length, beards trimmed and shirts tucked in.
